Bowen Therapy
In a nutshell
Bowen Therapy is the most wonderful bodywork modality I have encountered. I have been practicing Bowen for over 16 years and its simplicity never fails to amaze me.
Bowen Therapy originated in Geelong, Victoria in Australia about 50 yrs ago. Tom Bowen was the man who formulated the technique.
As far as the Therapy itself is concerned it is a very gentle, but dynamic process of small, but specific moves over very precise areas of the body which start a process within the body of accessing the bodies own healing intelligence.

Bowen is gentle and effective for most forms of pain, stress and discomfort.
Bowen Therapy is used for almost all pain or discomfort issues. In the time I have used it I have found it is very effective in bringing the body and mind to a comfortable place.
- Sciatic and Back Pain
- Headache and Migraines
- Frozen Shoulder
- All joint problems whether stiff, painful or both
- TMJ (jaw) problems, teeth grinding and clenching
- Wry or stiff neck
- Arthritis
- Knee pain, including post-op knee pain
- Sprains and strains
- Bursitis
- Depression
- Chronic and Acute issues
- Very, very safe and effective for all ages including the elderly and newborns and pregnant women.
Bowen Therapy is a very powerful yet subtle form of hands-on gentle body healing.
Bowen Therapy is aided by gentle exercises which aid the body memory, I call these exercises ‘mini Bowens’ because they are that important and effective when used in conjunction with the treatment.
There are a few important rules to stick by, these rules are essential to ensure the treatment is given the best chance possible.
